My name is Matthew and I’ve lived a life I never thought I’d survive. I’m not ashamed of where I came from. I’m recovered. But before I got here, my life looked a whole lot different. I grew up dirt-floor poor in Limestone, Tennessee. I’ve been in trouble. I’ve been convicted. I’ve made mistakes that I wish I could take back. I’ve battled addiction, depression, and things that I honestly didn’t know if I would ever make it through. I’ve been beaten within inches of my life. I’ve fallen more times than I can count. And there were moments when I didn’t recognize the person looking back at me in the mirror. But God never gave up on me. Not once. When I couldn’t see a way forward, He made one. When I was broken, He stayed. When I was lost, He came looking for me. And when I thought my past had disqualified me from having a future, God reminded me that He doesn’t call perfect people. He calls broken people and gives them a reason to keep going.
Today, I’m blessed to hold real estate licenses in multiple states. I’m building a career, building a business, helping people find homes, and living a life that the younger version of me could have never imagined. But none of that is because I’m special. It’s because God is faithful. Without God, there is no Matt. I don’t share my story because I’m proud of every chapter. I share it because somebody reading this right now may be living in the chapter I once thought would be the end of my story. If that’s you, please hear me: You are not your worst mistake. You are not your addiction. You are not your past. And you are not beyond redemption. Call on God. Even if you don’t know what to say. Even if your prayer is nothing more than, “God, please help me.” Start there. I’m living proof that God can take somebody who was completely broken and give them a life worth fighting for. I’m not perfect. I’m still a work in progress. I still have struggles. But today, I have hope. And I know exactly where that hope comes from. Jesus Christ. If you’re struggling today, don’t give up. Your story isn’t over. God is still writing it. God bless you all. 🙏❤️
