Shannon: My whole life has been a God moment. I was born with a birth defect called Spina Bifida. Not as much was known about Spina Bifida 36 years ago. Some children did pass away from simple, now treatable side effects. The doctors told my parents I had zero chances of walking. I am now 36 years old, married with two big pups to take care of. And though I used to walk with braces on my legs, I no longer do. I had back surgery in 2011 that left me on crutches, but still…I walk!! There have been so many moments that the crutches helped me achieve what I couldn’t have without them. I pray that my strength and stability increase, but for now, God is helping me with every obstacle! He has never left me!
