Michelle: When I was a little girl, my parents were drinkers and liked to go out with their friends. Church was the last thing on their mind.
My Uncle Marty drove the church bus for a small Baptist church in town. My parents liked sleeping in on Sunday morning after partying with their friends all night. Uncle Marty asked if he might pick my brother and I up and ride the bus to church. Of course, my parents said yes to get us out of the house. I am a church bus kid.
When I was in the 4th grade, my Sunday school teacher, Dorothy, led me to the Lord at the end of class. I’m forever grateful for my uncle and Sunday school teacher to invest in me and introduce me to the Lord. Many years later, on a Palm Sunday, the Lord convicted the hearts of my parents. They just up and decided we would all go to church. They got saved at the evening service that day. They turned their and our lives around and have lived for Jesus since that day. My Dad eventually became a pastor after many years and has now retired. God works miracles. He listens to even the youngest child who calls his name. He saved our souls and our family. I ended up graduating from a Christian school and attended a Christian college where I met my sweet husband. We have three grown daughters, one with Down’s Syndrome. I’m so thankful to never have an empty nest. God works through her and we clearly see Jesus in her kindness and love towards others. Our God is so good.
