Be Still and Know That I Am God

"I was told I would never be able to have children."

Be Still and Know That I Am God

Our names are Kate and James, but the story is really about our girl, Ali. I was told I would never be able to have children. After multiple surgeries to help with severe endometriosis, my ability to conceive was looking worse than I thought. My heart was shattered that I wouldn’t be able to be a Mom.

After many years of trying and struggling, I had gone to a healing service ready to do business with God. God heard my hearts cry and completed the healing in my body! I was pregnant within the next 2 months. I remember being so excited that I was going to be a Mom. God heard my cries and answered. I knew that our child was coming with a major purpose, but much to our surprise, on March 1, 2011, I was told in a routine appointment that my unborn daughter would not survive. She only had a 0.3% chance to survive to birth and that it would be better if we terminate the pregnancy because her life would not be viable. Her whole body was suffocated with fluid. A couple weeks later I had to meet with a high risk doctor in Albany. I had to meet with a geneticist before seeing the doctor and it felt like I was sitting across the table from the enemy himself. She spoke the words “Today will determine the fate of your child.” As I went in for the visit with the doctor, I heard the still small voice of God as He breathed the words “Be still and know that I am God!” over my situation. I knew that the God of peace met me in the room that day. The words that the enemy was trying to use to destroy our daughter’s life, were calmed by the Father of Miracles.

Ali is very much viable. She was born with Turner Syndrome and 4 heart defects, along with many other issues. She has dodged multiple heart surgeries, had 3 of 4 major heart defects healed (one completely removed), and one that that does not correct itself. We know who healed her! She has had 2 neck surgeries to correct excess skin on her neck and other surgeries for ENT issues. She does not complain about all she has experienced because she knows who her Savior, Creator, and Healer is! She loves Jesus so much and she loves to worship Him. She’s a prayer warrior and a living, breathing, walking miracle. She loves singing. Her voice is heavenly! She got to meet Matthew West at an Albany, NY concert. She sang with him; he sang with and for her and her life was blessed.

Ali has amazing plans for her life and God has amazing plans for someone reading this. Psalm 46:10 is our life verse. Be still and know!

"...I heard the still small voice of God as He breathed the words "Be still and know that I am God!"
