The God Who Stays

"I have been shattered in a way I never dreamed possible."

The God Who Stays

Vanita: I have to take a moment to express to Matthew and his group what the song “The God Who Stays” has meant to me and to say thank you for being obedient and diligent in releasing this song. In the past year, I have seen the end of my almost 30 year marriage. I have been shattered in a way I never dreamed possible. I have been a shell of a woman for the past year. I am still trying to live my life, fulfill my obligations at work, continuing to raise my 19 year-old niece and put her through college, and continuing my duties at my church with children’s programs and assistant treasurer duties.

However, my joy had been stolen, my joy not only for life, but in my service as well. It had been crushed. And then this song came into my life. I listen to it multiple times a day, and each and every time, God brings a measure of healing through it into my soul. I now have hope that I don’t have to live with the shame and guilt of divorce for the rest of my life and allow the enemy to crush my spirit with it. Slowly, I’m finding healing through every single word in this song.

So, Matthew…thank you from the bottom of my heart.

"Slowly, I'm finding healing through every single word in this song."
