Jane: Jenna and I met you at Matthew’s concert in Newburgh, Indiana on April 16 of this year, 2023. I have attached the photo of you and Jenna and just wanted to take a minute to explain her story.
Jenna is 23 years old and loves your son and his family like they were her own. She follows their YouTube and feels like she knows each one of them and that includes you because she recognized you immediately at the concert. That might sound a little strange, but Jenna suffered a traumatic brain injury upon birth that has left her basically with the mindset of a 12-year-old and has cerebral palsy. She loves older people and volunteers at a food pantry and a clothing bank. She is a joyful child and loves her music. She’s never watched TV. She only listens to Christian music.
She has a photograph of Matthew that he autographed at this past concert that a friend of ours laminated for her because she has carried that picture around for about eight years now. The picture goes everywhere she goes except the bathtub! Everyone asks her who that is and she tells them all about him- that he’s a Christian singer/songwriter and has a wonderful family. People look at her strangely sometimes, but it makes her happy to have that photo. I learned a long time ago that she’s had a lot of things to endure so if that photo makes her happy, then she can carry Matthew everywhere! I’ve included some pictures, and you’ll notice that in her hand is the photograph of Matthew.
We just want you all to know how very much the songs and the videos have meant to her and so many others- just how many lives do you all have touched.
